OLYMPICS-BEACH VOLLEYBALL 28/7/12

LONDON OLYMPICS 2012
Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade. 28th July. 2012
It turned out to be a glorious day at Horse Guards Parade for 50,000 people with the sun beating down. Number 10 Downing Street and Whitehall provided a beautiful backdrop for this glamorous event, which included loud music, audience participation and a dance troupe, but the sand rakers won everyone’s hearts. Today I saw the Amazon built women: Russia (a player standing 6 foot 2 inches) defeating China and the Czech ladies defeated  the Germans. Whilst there was much flesh for the feasting eyes of the men unfortunately the men wore shorts and singlets and not a Speedo or an ab was there in sight! In the men’s competition Latvia with popular player ‘The Lion King’ defeated Poland and in the final match Germany defeated Russia. Russian player Semenov stands 6 foot 10 inches and the boys throw faster than 79 km’s an hour. Now that’s a fastball!
