Seminar Notes-The Actors GuildHow to sell myself socially. Social Media
June 12. 2012
*Social media and
what works for me: Twitter, FB, Youtube, Google etc.
*A good example
of a FB page see Emma Watson which is constantly updated and also the
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
*Like the casting
agents pages, spotlight and castingcallpro also on Twitter and agents too for
updates.
*Link Spotlight
CV on Twitter and FB.
*Join the Actors
Guild for Job training and updates in the industry.
*Social media
pages: for Anne Vosser
Debbie O’Brien
David Grindrod
Neil Rutherford
Regan-Rimmer
*Try and link
Youtube and video to FB from Youtube.
*Use the embedded
codes and copy and paste to a blog page.
*Make sure you
rip Youtube clips, which can be done through Google.
*If enquiries
made on your Youtube clips check fair dealing copyright law on publicising my
own work and it’s criticism for my show reel. Do a favourite and play
list.
*Remember if
clips are bad in show reel no one will watch it.
*Look at a bad
example-Friday-Rebecca Black and see what not to do.
*Instagram is
trendy and the Barbican likes it.
*Start a Tumblr
page-good for quotes, photos, clips and audio. It rolls down the page in a
continuous page. Free site.
